UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS/OFFERINGS

July 30, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm - Screening of The Mashpee Nine and conversation with Paula Peters, Talia Landry, and Chief Earl Mills Jr., at Cotuit Federated Church, 40 School Street, Cotuit

This July 28–29 marks the 50th anniversary of the violent arrest of the Mashpee Nine. Join us for a screening of the 55-minute documentary The Mashpee Nine, followed by a conversation Paula Peters, Talia Landry, and Chief Earl Mills Jr.—one of the Mashpee Nine.

This a powerful, local story of police brutality, cultural justice, and what Native studies scholar Gerald Vizenor calls "survivance"—the active survival and resistance of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
